Recording Your First Swing

There are two ways to record your first swing.

The fastest and easiest is to just push the "Record Now" button on the welcome screen.  This will cause the iPhone's camera interface to launch and record a video.  Don't forget to push the red "record" button - we can't automatically start the recording.  When you're done recording just push it again to stop and if you want to keep it press the "Use" button to complete the recording.

We strongly recommend that videos should be kept fairly short.  Short videos can be copied into the application much more quickly and can also be exported and sent more easily.  Since most swings are just a few seconds long this isn't usually a problem, but if you do record a longer video you'll see what we mean.  It is much more efficient to have many short videos of separate swings than it is to record many swings into one video.

The swing will be automatically loaded into the application after it is recorded.  You should see the Main Screen now with the toolbar at the bottom.

When a swing is loaded for the first time it has to be converted to a format that Swing At'em uses internally.  This will take a few seconds.  A progress bar will be shown at the bottom of the screen so that you can tell when conversion completes.  This conversion only happens when a swing is first loaded into the application.  After that you can view the swing instantly.

Since loading a swing covers the "Record Now" button it's important to let you know that there is a second way to record a video.  Just press the "New Video" button on the main toolbar at the bottom of the screen.  There you'll see an option to use your phone's internal camera.  You can use this at any time to record a new swing - even if the Welcome Screen isn't active.
